Carrick Golf Course Luxe on the Loch
On the shores of Loch Lomond surrounded by 100 acres of magnificent wooded parkland and heath, the new Carrick Golf Course opened this year, incorporating traditional Scottish elements such as sod walled bunkers, fescue, and gorse, routed with panoramic views of the lake. Just 20 minutes from Glasgow International Airport, a gracious, baronial 18th century mansion is now a 96-room luxury hotel, the Cameron House, which stands nearby the golf club and offers stay-and-play packages. At the hotel are a lagoon pool and sauna, gym, squash courts and full-service spa. The 46-foot lake cruiser "Celtic Warrior" and the 30 foot Henley launch "Belle Epoque" are available to cruise the loch. The charming, 9-hole Wee Demon course here is great for practice and for beginners.

The Phoenician Haven for VIPs
Privacy and exclusive services are the order of the day at the Canyon Suites, a "hotel within a hotel" at The Phoenician, a 5-diamond-rated resort snuggled against the rugged southern slope of Camelback Mountain in Scottsdale. Set apart from the main resort, the suite complex recently underwent $5.5 million in renovation of the 60 guest rooms, the pool terrace and the private lobby where a concierge holds forth. Special amenities for suite guests include an exotic fruit basket; Silver Service morning coffee and tea; the use of a chauffeured S550 Mercedes, two-hour clothes pressing, afternoon wine tasting, and more! As showy as an Italian palazzo, the resort has a tropical air with hundreds of palms reflected in lagoons draped with blooming vines. Swimming pools are lined with mother-of-pearl and a tiered series of waterfalls creates a liquid paradise. Abloom with banks of flowers and awash with ponds and lakes, the Oasis, the Desert and the Canyon nines are among the prettiest courses in the Valley of the Sun.

WaterColor Inn and Resort Family Friendly
Golf for Women magazine says it's one of the Best Golf Resorts for Families, while Travel + Leisure Golf calls it the #1 Resort for Families. The 4-diamond WaterColor Inn and Resort in WaterSound, Florida, incorporates a new concept in golf with the revolutionary Origins Course designed by Davis Love, III. The only one of this type in the country, the 1m800-yard, 6-hole regulation course also plays as a 9-hole executive course and a 10-hole, par 3 layout through the use of alternate tee boxes and auxiliary greens, making the game more fun for families, beginners and casual golfers, while providing enough challenge and strategy on the regular holes for experienced players. Guests at the resort--the only 4-diamond hotel in northwest Florida--can also take advantage of golf packages that include the nearby Tom Fazio-designed Camp Creek Golf Club (7,159 yards, 152 slope) and Greg Norman's Shark's Tooth Golf Club on the shores of Lake Powell.
